Update 2: Opera 15 or newer will download all files automatically regardless of type. You can use the configuration instead to configure file extensions to automatically open in a select application which can also be useful at times. Opera will save files of the selected type automatically to the download directory without displaying a dialog first. Click on Choose afterwards to select a location where files of this type should be automatically saved to from now on.Ĭlick ok to save the new settings. You will notice that the "Show Download Dialog" option is the default action for most file types. To make this easier you can sort by file extension or use the quick find option at the top to find the file extension this way. Select Downloads from the left menu, uncheck "Hide File Types opened with Opera" and double-click on the file type that you want to customize or select it and click on the edit button instead. To open the preferences click on the Opera button, then on Settings > Preferences or use the Ctrl-F12 shortcut to open it.
Update: Newer versions of the Opera web browser (pre-Opera 15 though) use a different layout. Go to Tools > Preferences and click on the Advanced tab of the menu that pops up. Opera, unlike other browsers, can be configured to have custom download locations for every file type.
